Carbon steel is a popular metal choice for knife-making due to its

heat treat it properly. If not, the knife may end up being brittle,
or too soft to hold an edge.
As the carbon percentage content rises, steel has the ability to
become harder and stronger through heat treating; however, it
becomes less ductile. Regardless of the heat treatment, a higher
carbon content reduces weldability. In carbon steels, the higher
carbon content lowers the melting point
Cold Rolled Coils
Steel coil is made from a finished steel product such as sheet or strip that has been wound
or coiled after rolling; its width is much greater than the thickness. Depending on the
production method, steel coil can be classified as Hot Rolled, Cold
Rolled, or Galvanized.
Carbon steel coil is mainly used for manufacturing complex shape,
high mechanical performance requirements, but in the process and it
is difficult to use forging and pressing methods to form the more
important mechanical parts, such as automobile gearbox housing,
locomotive and vehicle couplings and so on.
